Deze week weer voor controle naar het UMCG! Toch spannend. De afgelopen weken leek het goed te gaan maar dat wil je toch graag bevestigd zien in de oogmetingen. En die waren goed. De druk was gezakt tot 14. Meer dan goed dus. Nou waren mijn ogen het daar niet atlijd mee eens maar dat had toch ook wel heel erg te maken met het weer van de afgelopen weken. Ze werden als maar droger en daardoor roder. Nog een reden waarom het dus maar over moet zijn met die sneeuw, maar dat terzijde.
Dus zowel mijn dokter als ikzelf waren blij met deze uitkomst. We hebben daarom besloten om nu eens te kijken wat er gebeurt als we de medicatie gaan minderen. De "toverdruppel" blijft natuurlijk in het assortiment maar de andere medicatie en dus ook de medicatie tegen hoogteziekte die onderdeel uitmaakt van het pakket, wordt naar beneden bijgesteld.
De komende weken mogen we gaan proberen of dat geen nadelige effecten zal hebben. De afgelopen dagen ben ik al met het nieuwe regime begonnen en afgezien van vermoeide ogen, heb ik er nog geen echt nadelige effecten van ondervonden. Over twee weken mogen we weer terugkomen.
Ik ben er erg blij mee dat alles nu zo loopt. Zolang je middenin een proces zit, kun je de volgende stap wel aan. Nu alles weer wat beter lijkt te gaan, merk ik toch dat het afgelopen half jaar mij veel energie heeft gekost maar mij zoals altijd ook weer veel mooie dingen heeft gebracht.
Opnieuw heb ik gemerkt hoe veel bijzondere mensen ik om mij heen heb die nooit nalaten mij te volgen. Ook al had ik geen zin om er over te praten of bellen, één van de redenen waarom ik deze blog ben begonnen, ik weet altijd dat ze er zijn.
En natuurlijk M, die me door dik en dun steunt ook al was ik soms niet te harden omdat ik weer eens de deur niet uit kon of iets niet kon zien of doen wat ik wilde.
Ik duim voor mezelf dat de status quo van dit moment nog heel lang standhoudt en dat ik mijn energie, zeker als die helemaal terug is, kan storten op dingen die mij en mijn omgeving blij maken. Want ook dat heb ik de afgelopen periode weer gemerkt, en ik weet, het is het ultieme cliche, je leeft nu en haal er uit wat er in zit!
